Odia Film Adieu GODARD voted best Indian language film at KIFF


Bhubaneswar: Odia’s feature film Adieu GODARD won the best film award in the Indian language competition of the 27th Kolkata International Film Festival (KIFF), which ended on May 1.

The film is an Indo-French co-production. It was produced by Swastik Arthouse in collaboration with FilmStop Entertainment and Les Films de la Haute-Vallée.

Exquisitely shot in Odisha, the film is a comedic socio-cultural tribute to legendary French filmmaker Jean-Luc Godard. Choudhury Bikash Das plays the central character around which the film revolves. Dipanwit Dashmohapatra, Sudhasri Madhusmita, Swastik Choudhury, Choudhury Jayaprakash Das, Shankar Basu Mallick, Abhishek Giri, Swetapadma Satpathy and Dr. Banikanta Mishra play other significant characters in the film. The music was composed by Kisaloy Roy. Rupam Islam delivered his first song Odia in this film.

This is the fifth award for the film at an international film festival. Adieu Godard will then travel to London for its UK premiere at the UK Asian Film Festival later this month, where it will screen at the BFI Southbank and the British Library. It will then travel to Stuttgart, for the German premiere at the Stuttgart Indian Film Festival next month.
