KURUKSHETRA: “Human resources and citizens play an important role in the progress of a nation. Many attempts have been made over the past 70 years to frame a new education policy (NEP), but he could not escape Macauley’s educational policy. The National Education Policy 2020, which is Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision, has the soul of Indian culture and tradition,” Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar said at the launch. . CIP at the University of Kurukshetra (KU) and speaking to the media on Sunday at the KU senate.
Congratulating KU for implementing the NEP in its true spirit as per the UGC (University Grants Commission) from the 2022 session, CM Khattar said, “The NEP lays the foundation for the new India as it is based on a holistic approach. It covers important aspects such as holistic, multidisciplinary and futuristic education, quality research and the use of online technology for better reach in education. The NEP will certainly pave the way to make India Vishavguru once again and lead the world towards peace, lasting prosperity and brotherhood.
He said we must rewrite our nation’s history and free it from the biases and distortions of Western historians. Our past was glorious and it must be taught in its true spirit to the younger generation.
“With a focus on skills development, entrepreneurship, internships, community work, life skills and critical thinking, NEP focuses primarily on producing quality human resources with a modern vision and a firm faith in Indian cultural and moral values. NEP has the soul of Indian culture and tradition,” added Manohar Lal.
KU Vice Chancellor Prof. Som Nath Sachdeva while welcoming the guests said Kurukshetra University is the first in the state to implement NEP with a defined structure model and curricula detailed in its undergraduate programs at its on-campus colleges. He said that although the government of Haryana has set a target for the implementation of the NEP for 2025, KU implemented it in the 2022 session. He further added that the program of first KU’s four-year Research Honors cycle aims to provide quality education as well as comprehensive development to students.
Earlier, the CM inaugurated at KU a new teaching block of the Institute of Honors and Integrated Studies, an exhibition on Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav and Har Ghar Tiranga, released an album and jingle on Guru Teg Bahadar and distributed sewing machines to sewing and embroidery skills centers in KU adopted villages.
Among those present were Kurukshetra MP Nayab Singh Saini, KU Registrar Sanjeev Sharma, University Dean, Prof. Manjula Choudhary, Faculty Deans, Directors and Presidents were present on the occasion.
