MoS Muraleedharan interacts with the Indian community in Qatar

Doha [Qatar]May 09 (ANI): Union Minister of State for External Affairs V Muraleedharan interacted with the Indian community in Qatar on Monday during his three-day official visit to the country.
“Great pleasure to interact with Qatar’s diverse Indian community at a reception hosted by the Embassy of India in Qatar as part of #AzadiKaAmritMahotsav. Highlighted India’s transformational history under PM @narendramodi ji Diaspora has an important role during #AmritKaal and beyond,” tweeted Muraleedharan.
‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ is an initiative of the Center to celebrate and commemorate 75 years of independence. The “Amrit Kaal” refers to the 25 years leading up to India’s celebration of the centenary of its independence in 2047.

Muraleedharan also interacted with representatives of the Indian Cultural Center and the Indian Community Charitable Forum and other organizations.

India and Qatar enjoy excellent bilateral relations in the political, economic, defence, cultural and educational fields, which have further strengthened in recent years. The leaders of the two countries have maintained close contact during the Covid-19 pandemic, according to the Department of External Affairs (MEA).
Qatar is home to over 700,000 Indians. Bilateral trade exceeded $15 billion in the 2021-22 financial year and Qatar’s investment in India has increased fivefold over the past two years.
The two countries will celebrate the Golden Jubilee of establishing full diplomatic relations in 2023. (ANI)
