Hannahville Indian Community to Hold Blood Drive Friday | News, Sports, Jobs

HARRIS – The Community Blood Center has partnered with the Indian Community of Hannahville and the Island Resort & Casino to offer the community the opportunity to help with the blood supply on Friday, September 30 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Island Resort & Casino Bingo Hall. Island Resort invites all presenting donors to win one of three sets of two Island Showroom tickets. The Community Blood Center is the sole blood provider for OSF St. Francis Hospital & Medical Group and Dickinson-Marshfield Clinic County Hospital.

There is no substitute for transfused blood, so when a patient faces cancer treatment, surgeries or the uncertainty of a traumatic injury, their volunteer donors who help ensure that the necessary blood is available.

“Blood donors are selfless individuals who give a priceless gift to someone they will never meet, but whose life they will forever impact,” said Kristine Bélanger, Vice President of Operations and Chief Operating Officer, The Community Blood Center.

Every two seconds, someone in the United States needs blood, regardless of the status of COVID-19 in the community. To meet this need, 35,000 blood donations are needed every day across the country. CBC is the sole supplier of blood, platelets and plasma to nearly 30 hospitals in Wisconsin and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.
