New York: External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar shared his concerns about the safety and wellbeing of the Indian community in the UK with his British counterpart James Cleverly and welcomed his assurances on the matter.
“A warm conversation with UK Foreign Secretary @JamesCleverly. We discussed progress on the 2030 roadmap. Appreciate his commitment to deepening our partnership,” Jaishankar tweeted on Wednesday.
He said his conversation also touched on global issues, including the Indo-Pacific, Ukraine and UNSC issues.
“I have shared my concern for the safety and wellbeing of the Indian community in the UK. Commended his assurances in this regard,” Jaishankar said.
During his meeting with Bolivian Foreign Minister Rogelio Mayta, Jaishankar said he spoke about “our development partnership and the expansion of our economic engagement. Exchange of views on world developments.
After his meeting with Norway’s Foreign Minister Anniken Huitfeldt, Jaishankar said he appreciated “our continued cooperation within the UN Security Council.
We discussed our Nordic partnership, Afghanistan, Ukraine and climate action. »
He also met with Estonian Foreign Minister Urmas Reinsalu and “discussed the deepening of bilateral cooperation following the opening of our embassy. Also exchanged views on developments regarding Ukraine.
Jaishankar hosted the 10th meeting of the India-Brazil-South Africa (IBSA) Trilateral Ministerial Commission and reviewed the IBSA process and acknowledged its activities.
Appreciated its promotion of South-South cooperation, including on global and multilateral issues. Reiterated commitment to reformed multilateralism, he said.
Brazilian Foreign Minister Carlos Franca and South African Health Minister Joe Phaahla participated in the meeting.
