A webinar on “grace period procedures” for the Indian community will be held tomorrow

Doha: The Public Relations Department of the Ministry of Home Affairs, in association with the Research and Monitoring and Unified Services Departments and in collaboration with the Cultural Center of India (ICC) and the Community Benevolent Forum India (ICBF), will host a webinar on “Grace Period Procedures” for members of the Indian community in Qatar at 7:00 p.m. tomorrow (Monday 2/14/2022) via the Cisco WebEx virtual meeting application.

The webinar is organized to explain the procedures of the “grace period” announced by the Ministry of Interior from 10/10/2021 to 31/3/2022 to correct the status of expatriates who stay in the country in violation of the provisions of Law No. 21/2015 which regulates the entry, exit and stay of expatriates.

During the webinar, the officer of the Department of Unified Services under the General Directorate of Passports will explain the details of the procedures for correcting the status of violators of Law No. 2018/2019. 21/2015, under corporate employment through various Ministry of Interior Service Centers such as Umm Salal, Al Rayyan, Mesaimeer, Al Wakra, Umm Senaim, Al Shamal, Al Khor, Al Daayen, Umm Salal, The Pearl, Onaiza, Souq Waqif, Al Rayyan, Umm Senaim, Al Shahaniya, Mesaimeer, Al Wakra and Dukhan.

On the other side, the Tracing and Tracing Department officer located at Salwa Road will share the details of the services provided to offenders during the grace period through the main reception of the Department. All services related to the grace period are offered by the Tracing and Monitoring Department and Home Office Service Centers from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Sunday through Thursday.

The Ministry of the Interior has extended the grace period announced from October 10 to December 31, 2021 to March 31, 2022, as part of its concern to take into account the interests of business owners and expatriate workers, to benefit from the reduction of 50% of the amount of the settlement of the violation.

The Ministry has provided all facilities for offenders to correct their legal status while inside the country by transferring from one employer to another or leaving the country for their own sake by exonerating them from all consequences of legal liability.
